DIRECT RESPONSE COPYWRITER


This is a role for a copywriter who understands that great copy is measured by performance.

We’re looking for someone who can produce high-converting direct response copy at volume, develop winning angles, and help raise the bar for a growing team of copywriters across multiple DTC brands.


This is a fully remote, full-time contractor role reporting to the Copywriting Lead.

WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO 

This role sits at the core of the company’s growth engine. You’ll take data, insights, and strategy, and turn them into high-performing copy that drives measurable results.

You will:

  • Produce high-volume, high-converting static ads (40+ per week), including hooks, body copy, and CTAs.
  • Write and optimize landing pages designed to improve conversion rates.
  • Develop new copy angles and testing hypotheses to continuously unlock performance gains.
  • Analyze performance data (CTR, CPA, ROAS) to inform what to scale, iterate, or discard.
  • Improve mid- and bottom-funnel performance, including retargeting ads and email flows.
  • Review and elevate copy across brands, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Mentor and support junior copywriters, helping raise the overall standard of the team.
  • Collaborate closely with media buyers and creative teams to align on strategy and execution.
  • Operate as a super user of technology, leveraging AI and systems to maximize output and creative performance.
  • Continuously iterate on winning ideas and contribute to scaling what works.
  • Help us crack the code on harder categories, like our hair products, where we are looking for fresh, winning angles. Your focus is 100% on high-impact static ads, landing pages, and angles.


WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 3+ years in direct response copywriting for DTC/eCommerce brands.
  • You understand that copy is measured by results CTR, CPA, conversions, not opinions. You use performance insights to guide decisions and refine your work.
  • You’re comfortable writing across ads, landing pages, and email, not just top-of-funnel (full-funnel thinker).
  • You can maintain strong quality while working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • You’re comfortable working with tools like Figma, Notion, Klaviyo, Shopify, Converge and Meta Ads Manager.
  • You take initiative, solve problems, and don’t rely on constant direction.
  • You enjoy giving feedback, mentoring others, and contributing to team performance. You also handle feedback well and iterate quickly based on results.
  • You actively use AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude as part of your workflow to improve speed, leverage, and output quality

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

30 Days

  • Fully ramped on systems, brand voice, and performance drivers. Consistently hitting production targets (40 statics/week, 1 landing page, 1 new angle) with a clear understanding of all brands and audiences.

60 Days

  • Independently developing and testing new copy angles. Landing pages are live and performing. Contributing actionable insights in weekly performance reviews.

90 Days

  • Driving measurable improvements in key metrics (CTR, CPA, CVR). Mentoring junior copywriters and owning copy strategy for at least one brand.
