Running creative strategy across multiple 7-9 figure health and wellness brands, producing VSLs and AI-generated ads built to scale past $100k/day in spend, and leading a team of strategists while staying deep in the actual work. That's what this role looks like day to day.
The agency is lean, senior, and purely focused on direct response performance. No UGC, no bloated processes, no layers. Just tight briefs, fast iteration, and a constant hunt for the next angle before it saturates.
The team is growing and they need a senior creative lead to take half the portfolio and run with it.
WHO THEY ARE
They're a lean, senior direct response agency working exclusively with 7-9 figure health and wellness brands. The whole team is 11 people, everyone is experienced, and nobody gets handed an account they're not ready for. The way they compete is simple: be faster, sharper, and more data-driven than the larger agencies they go up against in the same ad accounts.
Here's what working there actually looks like:
- Nobody gets handed an account they're not ready for, everyone on the team is experienced
- The culture is informal and fast-moving, nobody is checking when you log on as long as the work gets done and it performs
- The people who last here are the ones who dig into research without being told and actually care whether their creatives scale
- They're also investing heavily in AI, with a dedicated operations manager building automations and tools that feed directly into the strategy workflow
This is a fully remote, full-time contractor role, supporting a team on the EST timezone.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
-
Creative ownership: Run strategy across half the client portfolio, with full authority over angles, concepts, and briefs
-
Growth path: The plan is to build out creative pods under your leadership and eventually grow into Head of Creative Strategy
-
Performance bonuses: Spend-based bonus on every ad you drive, starting at 3.5% once a creative hits $10k in spend
-
AI-first environment: Work alongside a dedicated AI operations manager and get hands-on exposure to the latest AI tools and automations
-
No bureaucracy: Flat structure, async-friendly, and fully remote
WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO
- Start each day reviewing all client ad accounts and, using the agency's AI reporting tool, identify new winners, losers, and opportunities across the portfolio
- Own creative strategy for roughly half the agency's client accounts, including angle ideation, brief development, copy-chiefing scripts, and assigning work to editors
- Produce 25-30 briefs per week across multiple brands (15-20 at minimum if the quality and intent are there)
- Lead market research using tools like GetHooked, AdSpy, and the Meta Ads Library to identify fresh angles before they saturate
- Bridge the gap between the media buyer and the strategy team by running regular learnings on live creatives
- Review and quality-check briefs from the junior strategists, acting as the senior creative voice across their work
- Collaborate closely with editors through the Asana and Frame.io pipeline to ensure briefs are tight and production runs smoothly
- Over time, help build out creative pods, taking on direct reports and reducing the founder's involvement in day-to-day strategy
WHO YOU ARE
- You have 4+ years in direct response creative strategy, with hands-on experience in the health and wellness or supplement space specifically
- You've made at least one ad that crossed $100k in spend in a single month
- You're fluent in Meta Ads Manager across every metric that matters: CPA, nCPA, hook rate, CTR, AOV, RPV, cohort data
- You know how to use GetHooked, AdSpy, and the Meta Ads Library as actual research tools, not just things you've logged into before
- Your background is in video and direct response, not UGC. You understand what makes a VSL or native ad convert at scale
- You're comfortable managing people and work while also staying deep in the craft yourself
- You thrive in lean, fast-moving environments where the standard is performance, not process
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
-
30 days: You know the accounts, understand the winning angles, and are already producing briefs and contributing to daily performance discussions.
-
60 days: Your briefs are running, winners are getting iterated on fast, and the strategists around you have a clearer sense of direction.
-
90 days: Brief output is consistent, the team is running more independently, and creative performance across your accounts is measurable and moving in the right direction.
