Chief Operating Officer
Apply for this job

Two founders have taken a recovery brand from zero to eight figures in under two years, landed distribution inside one of the largest retailers in the US, and turned on Amazon two months ago, already doing six figures a month there. The brand is working. The founders are stretched across the whole business, and they're the first to say it: the next stage needs someone whose full-time job is making sure nothing they've built comes apart as it scales.

Here's the part where the need for the COO comes in: the operating system underneath the brand. You won't inherit someone else's playbook and spend a year unlearning it. You get a blank page and full authority to design the P&L, the workflows, the hiring machine, the entire backend, exactly the way you'd build it if it were yours, for a brand that's already proven it can win.

That's rare for a COO seat. Nail it, and this isn't just about running operations. Equity and a real path to CEO are on the table after year one.

WHO THEY ARE

This is a fast-scaling wellness and recovery brand built around a premium breathing and recovery product line, with a growing footprint across DTC, retail (including one of the largest retailers in the US), and Amazon. They've built brand equity most DTC companies would kill for through athlete partnerships and culture-first marketing, and they're now shifting from a single hero product into a full performance and recovery ecosystem.

Here's the shape of what you'd be stepping into:

  • Founder-led, high-output, no hand-holding culture
  • Multi-channel revenue: DTC, retail, and Amazon, with more channels wide open
  • Building toward a nine-figure brand, with on track to hit those goals next year

This is a fully remote, full-time role.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

  • A blank slate. There's no system to work around. You build it your way.
  • Direct partnership with the founder. You're their closest operating partner, not one layer of many.
  • A real path to CEO. Vesting and equity conversations start after year one, with a path to running the company.
  • Full backend ownership. P&L, operations, hiring, all of it sits with you.

WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO

  • Build the operational backbone of the company from the ground up: systems, SOPs, and workflows that don't exist today
  • Own P&L and internal operations across the business
  • Set up KPIs and reporting so leadership actually knows what's happening in the business
  • Bring in project management and workflow tools where there are currently none
  • Build the org chart and structure as the company scales
  • Support hiring across departments and help professionalize how the company brings people on
  • Work cross-functionally across every department to keep growth from breaking things
  • Act as the founder's closest operating partner, freeing them up to focus on growth and product

WHO YOU ARE

  • You've operated at a senior level inside a fast-scaling DTC or ecommerce brand
  • You've built systems, SOPs, and structure in a company that didn't have them
  • You've owned P&L and internal operations, not just a single department, while automating workflows with tools like Zapier, n8n, Make or Airtable
  • You know how to set up and run KPIs and reporting that leadership actually uses
  • You've supported hiring and helped professionalize how a company brings people on
  • You're comfortable being the operating partner to a hands-on founder

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • 30 days: You've mapped the current state of operations across the business, identified the biggest structural gaps, and picked the first systems or tools to put in place.
  • 60 days: Core project management and reporting systems are live, KPIs are being tracked, and you've started building out the org structure.
  • 90 days: The business is running on real systems instead of memory and spreadsheets, hiring processes are cleaner, and the founder is spending noticeably less time on the backend.
