Most brands treat UGC as an afterthought: a folder of raw clips someone edits down before a launch. This brand treats it as the growth engine. They're scaling toward $200M ARR in beauty, and creative is the biggest lever they have. They're not looking for someone to film or edit. They're looking for someone to direct: find the angle, write the brief, and turn creators into a content machine that never runs dry.
WHO THEY ARE
A DTC beauty brand with serious momentum and a founder who treats organic content as a science, not a guessing game. They live inside TikTok and IG, not just Meta Ads Manager, and they want someone who does the same. The team moves fast, kills what doesn't work without ego, and expects the same from you.
- Obsessed with organic formats before they get arbitraged into paid
- Direct response spine: hooks, awareness levels, angles, avatars
- No patience for aesthetics-first thinking, results only
- Radically coachable culture; constructive critique is normal
- Built for someone who wants to run creative, not just contribute to it
This is a fully remote, full-time contractor role.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
-
You own the creator pipeline end to end. Research, angle, brief, direction, results, iteration. No hand-offs, no bottlenecks.
-
You share in the upside. Winning concepts earn you a bonus tied to the spend they unlock, on top of your base.
-
Real career runway. This role is the on-ramp to Head of Content, then CMO, for the person who proves they can scale it.
-
You work close to the top. Direct access to the founder, not three layers removed from the decisions that matter.
-
Full creative authority. You're not writing briefs for someone else's strategy; you're setting it.
WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO
- Study the organic algorithm the way most strategists study Meta, and know exactly which formats are about to get arbitraged into paid.
- Dig into viral videos, Reddit threads, reviews, and comment sections until you find the pain nobody's saying out loud, then write hooks in the customer's own words.
- Write briefs a creator can shoot without a single clarifying question, then give notes that make the second take better than the first.
- Ship 20 net-new briefs every week (10 TOF, 5 MOF, 5 BOF), each with 5 hooks, a full script, visual cues, an A-roll list, and a B-roll list.
- Distribute briefs across a roster of creators to generate roughly 40 pieces of content a week.
- Read your own data (hook rate, hold rate, CPA, ROAS) and make the kill or iterate call yourself, no media buyer required to translate it for you.
- Build a swipe file and run your own ad breakdowns, because you'd be doing it anyway even if it wasn't the job.
WHO YOU ARE
- You've spent 1+ years as a direct response marketer in-house at a DTC brand, at a creative agency, or as an affiliate content creator.
- You've personally written a concept that spent $50K+ profitably at a brand or agency doing $1M+/month on Meta, and you can prove authorship, not just "was on the team."
- You've written yapper ads, UGC briefs, or storyboards that actually shipped.
- You understand consumer psychology well enough to explain mechanically why an ad won or failed.
- You can tell someone exactly how a script changes between TOF, MOF, and BOF, because you think in awareness levels, not just formats.
- You take a brutal ad critique and come back with a better version, not a defense.
- You can hold 20 briefs a week, every week, without your quality dropping off.
- You see storytelling as your responsibility, not the talent's. A yapper ad lives or dies on delivery, and you own that outcome.
Bonus if you've:
- Built or managed a roster of UGC creators directly
- Run your own paid tests to validate organic winners before they hit Meta
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
30 Days: Fully immersed in the brand's voice and customer, first batch of briefs shipped and out to creators, swipe file and research process up and running.
60 Days: Consistent 20 briefs a week at the TOF/MOF/BOF split, clear read on what's winning and why, first personally-authored $50K+ spender inside this brand.
90 Days: Running the full pipeline independently, kill/iterate decisions made without oversight, and a repeatable system in place for scaling briefs and creators together.
