Most creative strategists spend their days making things look good. This role is different: you'll spend your days figuring out why things work, and then writing the briefs that make more of it happen.
You'll be plugged into a Meta ad account across a product line that's expanding fast: wallets, tech accessories, luggage, backpacks, trackable cards, and more, launching soon. The team behind it produces around 500 ads a month, most of them in-house. Your job is to read what the numbers are saying and turn that into briefs the design team can run with, fast.
WHO THEY ARE
They're a fast-growing DTC travel and accessories brand with an in-house creative engine most companies would kill for: three video editors, two graphic designers, and an external UGC agency all producing content week in, week out. Creative isn't a support function here; it's the growth engine. This small department currently drives roughly 80% of the company's revenue, and it's about to become the company's biggest priority for the next 12 to 18 months.
- Small, senior team with real autonomy
- Data drives every decision, not opinions
- In-house production at serious scale
- Product line expanding into new categories constantly
- Direct line to the people who actually make the call
- Collaborations with recognizable names, Lionel Messi in the past, Steven Bartlett's Diary of a CEO most recently
This is a full-time, remote contractor role (Amsterdam-based candidates will join as employees)
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
-
Full remote flexibility. Full remote flexibility across Europe. Work from wherever suits you; a similar time zone to Amsterdam helps for overlap, but the right person matters more than the exact map.
-
A growing department means a growing role. The team is about to expand significantly. As it does, there will be room to move into more senior and managerial territory.
-
Variety built in. With the product range expanding into new categories, you won't be stuck briefing the same three ads on repeat. Wallets one week, luggage the next, a brand new category after that.
-
Direct access, no layers. You'll work closely with the person actually setting creative direction and making final calls, not buried three managers deep.
-
A bonus tied to performance. Compensation includes a bonus structure on top of base pay.
-
Perks that back up the culture. 25 holiday days, a MacBook and Apple accessories from day one, up to 6 weeks a year working from anywhere, monthly carbon offsetting, twice-yearly in-person team meetups, and your own upgraded travel gear plus a friends-and-family discount.
WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO
- Dig into Meta ad account performance and figure out what's actually working, what isn't, and why
- Turn that analysis into sharp, specific creative briefs, at a pace of at least 10 new concepts a week
- Brief the in-house team of video editors and graphic designers directly
- Repurpose and remix winning content across a growing multi-product line
- Own the creative strategy for specific product categories as the team scales
- Track performance post-launch and feed learnings back into the next round of briefs
- Work almost entirely within Meta, with some crossover into YouTube repurposing
WHO YOU ARE
- You've got real, hands-on creative strategy experience on Meta, roughly 5 years, but strong instincts and hunger to build a career in this specifically matter more than a specific number. If you're earlier in your career with genuine Meta creative strategy chops and the drive to grow fast, this is still very much worth a conversation
- You have real creative strategy experience specifically on Meta, not just media buying or general marketing
- You've got a copywriting or analytical background, and you can turn an insight into a brief that's actually buildable
- You're comfortable in Meta's backend: pulling ad account data, understanding what the numbers are telling you, and acting on it without hand-holding
- You think in English when you write. If translation is part of your process, this isn't the right fit
- You want to build a career in creative strategy
- You're based in Europe
Bonus if you've:
- Worked with physical products rather than apps or SaaS
- Experience in travel, accessories, or fashion
- Used Foreplay and Triple Whale
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
-
30 days: You're fully onboarded on the brand, the product range, and the tools (Foreplay, Triple Whale, Ads Manager). You've shadowed the briefing process and started producing your first briefs with guidance.
-
60 days: You're independently pulling insights from the ad account and producing a full 10+ briefs a week without needing them reviewed line by line. You know the product range well enough to spot which categories need fresh creative angles.
-
90 days: You're owning creative strategy for specific product lines end to end: reading the data, writing the briefs, and closing the loop on what worked. You're a trusted second set of eyes on strategy, not just an extra pair of hands.
