Most brands run tests. This role is about building the entire CRO function from scratch.
A fast-growing DTC beauty and wellness brand is looking for a Head of CRO to own the full funnel website experience, from landing pages, advertorials, and checkout flows, to creative assets and post-purchase optimization.
Right now, testing exists, but it isn’t systematic. There’s no dedicated owner of the testing calendar, no structured hypothesis framework, and no consistent reporting process behind what’s actually driving conversion improvements.
This role exists to change that.
You’ll be responsible for building the experimentation engine behind the brand’s growth: launching structured tests weekly, improving full funnel performance, leading the CRO team, and turning conversion optimization into a scalable system instead of a collection of one-off ideas.
WHO THEY ARE
A fast-growing DTC beauty brand built around performance marketing, aggressive testing, and high-speed execution.
The company has scaled quickly through Meta acquisition, advertorial funnels, and high-volume creative testing while serving a predominantly women-focused US audience in the beauty and wellness space. Their growth has created a clear opportunity: building a dedicated CRO function capable of systematically improving conversion performance across the full customer journey.
The founders remain deeply involved in growth strategy and are looking for someone capable of fully owning the conversion engine as the company scales further.
This is a fully remote, full-time contractor role.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
-
Build the CRO function from scratch: Own the testing culture, experimentation systems, and optimization roadmap from day one.
-
Direct collaboration with leadership: Work closely with the founders and the CMO on scaling the conversion engine.
-
High ownership and autonomy: Full responsibility over what gets tested, prioritized, optimized, or removed across the funnel.
-
Lead and shape the CRO team: Manage the developer/funnel builder, the direct-response copywriter, and the design support dedicated to funnels.
-
Fast-moving environment: Operate inside a performance-driven culture built around execution, iteration, and speed rather than bureaucracy
-
Long-term leadership path: Clear opportunity to evolve into a more senior growth leadership role as the company scales toward nine figures
WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO
- Own the full testing calendar, including what gets tested, when it launches, and the hypotheses behind it
- Analyze full funnel performance and user behavior to identify drop-offs, bottlenecks, scaling opportunities, and optimization priorities across the customer journey
- Build and optimize DTC full funnel experiences, including advertorials, listicles, quizzes, pre-landers, PDPs, checkout flows, and post-purchase experiences
- Create structured testing systems and hypothesis frameworks that improve experimentation quality and testing velocity
- Brief developers, copywriters, and designers with clear CRO direction and success criteria before tests go live
- Review all pages for conversion-focused execution, including copy, design, mobile UX, structure, CTA placement, and offer positioning
- Improve checkout and post-purchase flows, including upsells, order bumps, subscription offers, retention touchpoints, and referral flows
- Establish structured reporting and experimentation documentation that clearly communicates what’s working, what failed, and what should be tested next
- Help build the operational systems required to scale testing velocity 4–5x beyond the current setup

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
-
30 Days: Fully onboarded into the brand, products, customer avatar, and current funnel setup while auditing existing funnels, identifying the highest-leverage opportunities, and launching the first structured tests.
-
60 Days: A consistent testing rhythm is operating with new experiments launching weekly, measurable improvements appearing across at least one major funnel, and the CRO team executing effectively under your direction.
-
90 Days: The CRO function operates independently with structured systems, multiple completed test cycles, documented learnings, and visible impact on conversion performance across the funnel ecosystem.
