About the role
- Lead the commercial growth strategy across UK Defence, the MoD and wider Government.
- Build and execute strategic business development plans, identifying opportunities long before formal procurement begins.
- Develop executive relationships across the MoD, Defence Digital, DE&S, Dstl, Defence Primes and other key stakeholders.
- Lead marketing as part of the overall commercial strategy, ensuring campaigns, messaging and thought leadership support measurable growth.
- Create and execute account-based growth strategies for priority customers.
- Position the business as a trusted adviser rather than simply another technology supplier.
- Represent the company at Defence events, industry forums and customer engagements.
- Work closely with engineering, product and leadership teams to align commercial strategy with technical capability.
Your previous experience
- Strong understanding of UK Defence procurement and the wider MoD landscape.
- Experience selling into Defence, Government or national security organisations, ideally including Defence Digital, DE&S, Dstl, frontline commands, law enforcement or the intelligence community.
- Proven experience developing strategic customer relationships rather than purely responding to tenders.
- Experience shaping commercial strategy within an SME or growth-focused technology business.
- Able to translate complex technical solutions into compelling customer value propositions.
- Commercially astute, politically aware and comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- An understanding of cyber security, secure communications, networking or adjacent technology markets would be highly advantageous.
- Naturally collaborative with the credibility to influence senior military, civil service and executive stakeholders.
