Aircraft Structures Technician

C-130 Hercules

Starting at $39 hourly

Trenton Base, Canada


The Structures Technician installs, inspects, modifies, adjusts, or repairs

structures, such as corrosion, stringers, frames and longerons on

assigned aircraft.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs operational checks and corrosion control.

• Uses complex test equipment such as, multi-meters and deviation

meters, and specialized test equipment to perform maintenance.

• Repair or replace parts based on following blueprints, schematics,

handbooks, and other technical documents.

• Performs calibration, repair and replacement of parts based on

inspection results following blueprints, schematics, handbooks,

and other technical documents.

• Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD

awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.

• Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft records.

• Working knowledge of technical publications and aircraft maintenance

applications.

• Must be capable and willing to execute standard aircraft maintenance

tasks as part of daily operations.

Other Or Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of basic sheetmetal tools.

• Working knowledge of aircraft components and systems.

• Ability to interpret schematic diagrams, engineering drawings and

blueprints of assigned task.

• Working knowledge of standard sheetmetal work.

• Working knowledge of technical orders and maintenance forms.

• Ability to read and interpret data is required.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Ability to obtain a control goods clearance.


Experience & Education

• High School degree or equivalent required.

• Minimum of Two (2) to four (4) years recent experience in the repair of

aircraft avionics, com/nav, or instrument systems of the C-130

aircraft. Four (4) years experience preferred.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment

• May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.

• May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational

circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and

rudimentary infrastructure.

• May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.

• May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to

electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts,

vehicles, or aircraft.

• Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for

certain periods throughout the day.

• Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.

• Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger

dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.

• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

• May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify

small objects and hand tools.

• Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other

small scales.

• Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.

• Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.

• May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools,

ground support equipment, forklift, APU, etc.

company’s base pay compensation for the location and may be

modified at the discretion of the company.
