There are DTC brands that talk about performance marketing, and then there are ones that actually live by it. This is the second kind. A family games brand that went all-in on paid social in a category everyone else still runs through wholesale, and built something real off the back of it.


They're growing fast, the targets are ambitious, and the biggest unlocks, subscription, funnel optimization, retention are still sitting on the table. That's where you come in. As Head of Growth, you'll own all things paid social and performance, find the next levers, and build the systems that take this brand to the next level.


WHO THEY ARE

They started in 2021. with one game built around a simple idea: create something every age in the family can actually compete in together, no one sitting out, no one dominating. They're now one of the highest Meta spenders in the board game space, and they're not done. The next chapter is about pushing further into direct-response growth: subscription models, optimized funnels, retention, and beyond.


The team is small, the structure is flat, and the culture is simple:

  • Move fast: decisions get made quickly and people are expected to keep up.
  • Stay locked in: top performers here are deeply invested in their work and rarely need pushing.
  • Own your output: there's no hand-holding, just trust and high expectations.


This is a fully remote, full-time role.

US-based candidates will be hired as employees; international candidates will be brought on as contractors.

WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO

  • Scale paid acquisition across Meta, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and AppLovin/Snap/Google to hit the revenue goal.
  • Own creative strategy end-to-end, identifying winning angles, briefing the video editor and creative agencies, and making sure the ad account is never short of fresh, tested assets. 
  • Unlock funnel breakthroughs by building high-converting, direct-response landing pages and offer structures.
  • Manage and hold accountable a portfolio of external agencies covering paid social, Amazon, email, CRO, and TikTok Shop, with a view to moving key functions in-house over time. 
  • Implement Checkout Champs funnels to optimize conversion rates and drive subscription growth.
  • Improve customer retention and lifetime value through targeted post-purchase lifecycle strategies.
  • Reallocate marketing budgets and resources autonomously to maximize total ad spend efficiency.
  • Protect the 20% profit margin by prioritizing higher EBITDA over blind top-line revenue scale.
  • Prepare the Q4 strategy to successfully capture and convert 80% of the brand's annual revenue.
  • Report performance directly to the founder to ensure all metrics surpass profit targets.


WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 5+ years in performance or growth marketing at direct-response DTC brands;  subscription or funnel-heavy models preferred.
  • You've scaled an 8-figure brand, not just supported one.
  • You know Meta inside out: CAC, LTV, contribution margin, creative testing.
  • You've built multi-step funnels in Checkout Champs or something similar.
  • You get results out of agencies, not just reports.
  • You know what makes a direct-response creative work and can brief it clearly.


WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • 30 days: You know the ad account, the funnels, the creatives, and where the gaps are. You're not leaning on the founder for context anymore.
  • 60 days: New creatives are getting spent and there's at least one meaningful funnel test underway. You're starting to show what you came here to do.
  • 90 days: You have a clear, executable plan for Q4 and the team has full visibility into what you're betting on. You're ahead of the results, not reacting to them.
