Finance Manager
Apply for this job

If you think in terms of unit economics, margin leakage, and cash flow liquidity, and you’re looking to build a financial infrastructure from a blank canvas, this role is the opportunity to define the operational backbone of a high-growth brand.

We are looking for a Finance Manager to serve as a strategic partner to the leadership of a category-defining DTC beauty brand. This is a "clean slate" opportunity: you will take full ownership of the financial architecture and act as the primary navigator for the founders during a period of aggressive scaling. We are looking for an architect who loves the "messy" building phase, not an administrator.

WHO THEY ARE

Built on the performance of Korean skincare, this brand is a fast-growing, digital-first DTC business operating at the intersection of consumer demand and rigorous data. Currently doing ~$4m per month in revenue and employing 28 people, the brand has scaled significantly in its first six months. We are moving beyond founder-led spreadsheets toward a professionalized, data-driven financial structure.

HOW THE TEAM OPERATES

  • Builder Mindset: You aren't just maintaining legacy systems; you are constructing financial infrastructure from scratch.
  • Ownership-driven: You are the architect of your domain; you are accountable for the accuracy and reliability of the data.
  • Execution-focused: We prioritize systems, dashboarding, and actionable financial intelligence over manual reporting.
  • Direct & Proactive: We value thoughtful debate and identifying risks/leaks before they impact the bottom line. You are expected to challenge founders with data.
  • Remote/Async-first: We prioritize high-output and responsiveness over time-in-seat.

WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO

  • Audit, reconcile, and integrate data from disparate sources - specifically Triple Whale (your primary source of truth), Shopify, and payment processors - into one centralized reporting environment.
  • Take full ownership of our 13-week rolling cash flow forecast, ensuring we always have the liquidity and operational stability needed for our next phase.
  • Build channel-level P&Ls (DTC, Amazon, TikTok Shop) while tracking core subscription metrics like cohort LTV, churn, and MRR to ensure we’re focused on the right growth levers.
  • Conduct regular monthly margin audits to proactively spot profit leaks and find hidden inefficiencies in our supply chain or marketing spend.
  • Liaison with the external accountant - reviewing their output, catching errors, making sure Triple Whale/Shopify data reconciles with what they book.
  • Own inventory and COGS management - PO timing, inventory valuation, and turns - feed directly into the cash flow forecast.
  • Track returns, refunds, and chargebacks as a core margin lever, not an afterthought.
  • Run scenario modelling for key growth decisions (new channel launch, ad spend increase, new SKU) to support fast, confident calls.
  • Act as the primary QC layer with the external accounting firm - reviewing their output, resolving discrepancies, and making sure they're working off clean, reconciled data.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 4+ years of experience supporting DTC or eCommerce brands.
  • You manage Shopify as your core platform for business intelligence and data management, and you are an expert in Excel or Google Sheets, using them as your primary modelling environment for complex financial work.
  • You have proven experience building complex financial models and reporting infrastructure from a blank canvas rather than simply maintaining existing templates.
  • You have a deep command of performance marketing economics, including CAC, ROAS, MER, contribution margin, and payback periods.
  • You're comfortable being the sole finance owner in a lean team - reviewing and QC-ing output from an external bookkeeper/accountant rather than doing the bookkeeping yourself.
  • You communicate financial insight in plain language to non-finance founders/operators - this isn't a back-office reporting role, it's a decision-support role.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU

  • You have prior experience working within the skincare, beauty, or wellness industry.
  • You have worked in a company that went through a period of aggressive scaling, such as 30+ headcount growth in a single year.
  • You are proficient in additional data visualisation tools like Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • 30 Days: Build core P&Ls, launch a "Founder's Dashboard" for daily visibility, and implement the 13-week cash flow forecast.
  • 60 Days: Establish visibility into SKU, channel, and subscription profitability, define CPA guardrails, and align inventory planning with growth forecasts.
  • 90 Days: Establish a framework for "what-if" scenario planning so we can make expansion decisions with confidence.
