Permanent Section Foreman – RC / FRC Civils (PAYE)

Location: Teesside (Wilton)

Salary: £47,000 basic + 8% car allowance (plus company benefits)

Project duration: Minimum 2 years on this site, initially (strong local pipeline beyond)

The opportunity

We’re recruiting a Section Foreman to join a well-established Tier 2 civil engineering contractor on a major long-term scheme in Wilton, Teesside. The project forms part of the region’s wider net zero power and carbon capture / CO₂ infrastructure programme, one of the UK’s most significant energy and industrial decarbonisation developments.

This is a stable, local role with a clear minimum 2-year run on one project, plus strong continuity of work in the North East through secured AMP8 water framework activity after this scheme.

You’ll take day-to-day responsibility for a defined workfront delivering:

• RC foundations and pads
• Earthworks (formation, trims, haul routes, working platforms)
• Drainage (install, testing, backfill/reinstatement)
• Reinforced concrete (FRC) structures, including “Toblerone” type protective / support structures for large heavy-duty pipelines
• Coordination of gangs, plant, subcontractors, deliveries and permits to keep production moving safely and right-first-time

Key responsibilities

• Supervise site teams and subcontractors; plan labour/plant to hit short-term targets
• Ensure works are delivered to RAMS, ITPs and specification (incl. concrete pours, reinforcement, shutters/formwork, finishes and cure regimes)
• Lead daily briefings / toolbox talks, maintain a high H&S culture, and close out actions quickly
• Liaise with Site Manager, Engineers, QA and H&S to resolve technical issues and keep the programme on track
• Maintain accurate daily records (progress, delays, deliveries, NCRs/quality checks)
• Manage interfaces between civils elements (earthworks / drainage / concrete) to avoid rework

What we’re looking for

Essential:

• Gold or Black CSCS (NVQ level)
• SSSTS or SMSTS (minimum SSSTS)
• Proven experience as a Section Foreman (or equivalent) on civils projects
• Strong, demonstrable FRC / concrete background (not just general groundworks)
• Happy to work PAYE only (no CIS / day rate / hourly options)

Desirable:

• SMSTS, First Aid, Temporary Works awareness/co-ordination exposure
• Experience on large industrial / energy / pipeline-adjacent civils packages
