Site Engineer | Civil Engineering Contractor | North East | £40,000 - £55,000 + Package

Fulcrum Recruitment is working with an established civil engineering contractor that is looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of infrastructure and residential groundworks schemes across the North East.

This position would suit an Engineer who is confident taking ownership on site, rather than simply assisting. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out, technical delivery, quality checks and supporting the wider site team to ensure works are delivered accurately, safely and in line with programme.

The work is largely focused around residential infrastructure, including roads, sewers, drainage, kerbing and plot works, with a healthy pipeline of secured and upcoming projects across the region.

The Role

As Site Engineer, your duties will include:

• Setting out roads, drainage, kerbing, plot works and associated residential infrastructure

• Working from technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate delivery on site

• Carrying out surveys, levels, quality checks and general engineering duties

• Producing and maintaining as-built records and relevant site documentation

• Liaising with Site Managers, subcontractors and the wider delivery team

• Supporting site teams with technical queries and practical problem solving

• Helping ensure works are completed in line with programme, quality standards and specification

• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality across site activities

The Candidate

The client is looking for someone with:

• Proven experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or groundworks

• Strong setting out experience across roads, sewers, drainage and residential infrastructure

• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload on site

• Confidence reading and interpreting drawings and technical information

• Experience with QA processes, surveys, levels and as-built documentation

• CSCS card as a minimum

• SSSTS or SMSTS would be advantageous

• HNC or HND in Civil Engineering would be preferred, although not essential
