Site / Senior Site Engineer (Tier-One Main Contractor) – North East (Single-Site)

Location: Northumberland to Teesside (you’ll be based on one project)

The Opportunity

Join a long-established, privately owned UK main contractor with a major footprint across the North East and a track record of delivering complex building schemes on time and to exacting standards. With a strong pipeline in education, commercial offices/mixed-use, healthcare, retail & leisure, industrial/logistics and large residential (incl. student accommodation), we’re recruiting a Site or Senior Site Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of setting-out and QA on a single, high-profile project.

What you’ll do

• Setting out & dimensional control: Establish control, levels and grids; set out RC frames, steel, slabs, drainage, externals and interfaces using robotic total stations and GNSS where required.
• Survey & as-builts: Pre-pour/bolt-check surveys, as-built data capture and red-line drawings (AutoCAD).
• Quality assurance: ITPs, hold points, concrete sign-offs, materials verification, NCRs/close-out.
• Design coordination: RFIs/TCNs, clash/coordination with designers, supply chain and temporary works.
• Programme support: Sequence works with Site/Project Managers to protect programme and build quality.
• Digital delivery: Support BIM-enabled/modern methods workflows and accurate field-to-desk data transfer.

About you

• 4+ years’ setting-out experience in building/civils with a main contractor.
• Proficient with robotic total stations (Leica/Trimble or similar) and confident producing as-builts in AutoCAD.
• HND or higher in Civil Engineering (or related).
• CSCS and SSSTS or SMSTS (or willingness to obtain).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Clear understanding of tolerances, build sequence and QA for schools, offices/mixed-use, logistics/industrial, retail/leisure and multi-residential schemes.
