1. Purpose of the Role
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall management and daily operations of a luxury property in Franschhoek. The role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences in a high-end environment.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all operations, including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and guest services
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality guest experiences aligned with 4–5-star standards
- Manage, train, and motivate staff to achieve performance and service excellence
- Monitor financial performance, budgets, and cost controls
- Implement and maintain operational policies, procedures, and service standards
- Handle guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally
- Drive occupancy, revenue, and profitability through effective management and marketing initiatives
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hospitality regulations
3. Minimum Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience as a General Manager (or equivalent leadership role) in a hotel or guest house
- Proven experience in a 4-star property (5-star experience advantageous)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control
- Hands-on management style with attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required
