Function / Title: Recruitment Consultant – Manufacturing

Department: Recruitment

Location: Birkenhead, Merseyside (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Permanent

Reports to: Team Lead / Director


Job Purpose

The Recruitment Consultant is responsible for managing a white-collar permanent desk within the manufacturing sector, delivering high-quality recruitment solutions to clients while building strong candidate pipelines.

This role focuses on mid to senior-level placements across sectors such as Chemical, Packaging, Food, and FMCG. The successful candidate will leverage existing client relationships while actively developing new business opportunities, contributing to revenue growth and long-term client partnerships.


Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Delivery

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for permanent roles within the manufacturing sector.
  • Source, screen, and place mid to senior-level candidates.
  • Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines within specialist verticals.
  • Deliver a high-quality, professional service to both clients and candidates.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within the manufacturing sector.
  • Understand client requirements and provide tailored recruitment solutions.
  • Ensure consistent communication and service delivery excellence.

Business Development

  • Proactively build and grow your client portfolio and network.
  • Identify market opportunities within key manufacturing industries.
  • Contribute to desk growth and revenue generation.

Market & Sector Knowledge

  • Stay informed on market trends, salary benchmarks, and competitor activity.
  • Develop specialist knowledge across manufacturing sectors including Chemical, Packaging, Food, and FMCG.

Performance & Delivery

  • Achieve individual billing and placement targets.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting within internal systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and industry standards.

  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed and achieve targets.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as a permanent Recruitment Consultant.
  • Experience within white-collar or professional recruitment markets is preferred.
  • Experience recruiting within manufacturing, FMCG, or related sectors is advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s licence (travel required).

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid working model (2 days office / 3 days remote).
  • Travel within the UK as required.
