We’re seeking a proactive and reliable Assistant Kitchen Manager to support the daily operations of a fast-paced kitchen. This role is ideal for someone with strong culinary experience who thrives in a team environment and is ready to step into a leadership support role. You’ll work closely with the Kitchen Manager to uphold food quality, safety standards, and efficient service across shifts.


πŸ”§ Key Responsibilities

Β 

  • Assist in supervising kitchen staff across various shifts
  • Ensure food quality and hygiene standards are consistently met
  • Help implement health and safety protocols
  • Support inventory management, stock control, and ordering
  • Assist in onboarding and training new staff
  • Coordinate with front-of-house teams to maintain smooth service
  • Step in to resolve operational issues during peak hours
  • Contribute to optimizing kitchen workflow and cost efficiency



🎯 Candidate Requirements

Β 

  • Experience: 2–5 years in a kitchen, restaurant, or hospitality role with some supervisory exposure
  • Education: Matric certificate required
  • Citizenship: Must have a valid South African ID
  • Financial Status: No strict preference regarding debt
  • Availability: Must be able to start immediately
