Job Title: Inbound Travel Consultant

Location: Cape Town (Hybrid / Remote – Half-Day to Full-Time Progression)

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and passionate Inbound Travel Consultant to join a boutique luxury DMC specialising in tailor-made journeys across Southern and Eastern Africa. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-touch, creative environment and is committed to crafting exceptional client experiences.

The position begins as a half-day role during the onboarding phase, followed by a remote half-day schedule, with a clear path to full-time employment once independence and accuracy are demonstrated.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage bespoke FIT itineraries across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique.
  • Prepare accurate quotations and costings, ensuring all proposals reflect premium service standards.
  • Communicate effectively with international travel advisors, partners and suppliers.
  • Confirm accommodations, activities, transfers and all operational elements from enquiry to completion.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail in file management and documentation.
  • Contribute destination insight and creative ideas to enhance the guest experience.
  • Collaborate within a small, dynamic team that values quality, authenticity and long-term relationships.


Role Structure & Growth Path

  • Initial onboarding: Half-day role (approx. 4 hours per day) to learn systems, processes and product.
  • Post-onboarding: Continues as a half-day remote role, with regular touchpoints with the Cape Town team.
  • Growth phase: Progression into a full-time position once consistency, accuracy and operational confidence are demonstrated.

Requirements

  • Based in Cape Town or surrounding areas.
  • Minimum 2 years’ inbound travel experience, ideally within a DMC or tour operator.
  • Strong Southern Africa product knowledge and an understanding of luxury travel standards.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • High level of accuracy, organisation and ability to work under pressure.
  • Warm, service-oriented personality with a collaborative mindset.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for crafting meaningful travel experiences.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive, solution-driven approach.
