Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Travel Consultant to join a dynamic and fast-paced inbound travel environment based in Cape Town.
This role is suited to a highly organised and service-driven travel professional with strong FIT and small group experience across Southern Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing bookings from quotation stage through to completion while delivering exceptional service to international wholesale partners and ensuring seamless travel experiences throughout the process.
The ideal candidate will have excellent destination knowledge, strong supplier relationships, and the ability to manage multiple complex itineraries within a high-pressure operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Travel Consulting & Reservations
• Prepare accurate and detailed quotations and tailor-made itineraries for FIT and small group travel
• Manage bookings from enquiry stage through to final confirmation and completion
• Confirm supplier reservations accurately and timeously
• Handle amendments, cancellations, and operational changes efficiently
• Resolve operational issues and provide solutions throughout the travel process
Supplier & Partner Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, lodges, hotels, transport providers, and service partners
• Liaise with suppliers regarding availability, rates, and operational requirements
• Ensure all services are delivered according to client expectations and company standards
Systems & Administration
• Load, update, and maintain bookings accurately within Tourplan
• Issue vouchers, travel documentation, and final itineraries
• Ensure all booking files and operational records are accurate and up to date
• Maintain compliance with internal operational procedures and quality standards
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within inbound tourism
• Previous DMC experience essential
• Previous Tourplan experience essential
• Strong Southern Africa destination knowledge
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple bookings and deadlines simultaneously
• Ability to work under pressure within a fast-paced operational environment
