Portuguese Travel Consultant

Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a Portuguese-speaking Travel Consultant to join a dynamic and fast-paced inbound travel environment based in Cape Town.

This role is suited to a service-driven travel professional with experience managing reservations and creating exceptional travel experiences for international wholesale partners. The successful candidate will support Portuguese-speaking clients and agents while managing quotations, itineraries, bookings, and operational requirements across Southern Africa.

The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-oriented, and confident working within a high-volume operational environment while maintaining excellent levels of customer service and booking accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Travel Consulting & Reservations

• Handle reservations and enquiries from Portuguese-speaking clients and wholesale partners

• Prepare accurate quotations and tailor-made itineraries across Southern Africa

• Manage reservations from enquiry stage through to confirmation

• Process amendments, cancellations, and booking updates efficiently

• Confirm services and supplier bookings accurately and timeously

Supplier & Partner Liaison

• Liaise with suppliers regarding availability, rates, and operational requirements

• Build and maintain strong supplier and partner relationships

• Ensure all booking information and communication is clear, accurate, and professionally managed

Systems & Administration

• Maintain accurate booking information and updates within Tourplan

• Ensure all vouchers, itineraries, and travel documentation are completed accurately

• Maintain organised booking records and operational files

• Ensure compliance with internal operational procedures and service standards

Requirements

• Fluent in Portuguese and English (spoken and written) essential

• 2–4 years’ experience within the travel or tourism industry

• Strong Southern Africa destination knowledge

• Previous Tourplan experience advantageous

• Excellent communication and client service skills

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple bookings simultaneously

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
