Introduction


Our client, a well-established restaurant in Cape Town, is seeking a General Manager to oversee the entire operation. The General Manager will ensure smooth daily running of the restaurant, excellent guest service, and strong financial performance. This role requires hands on leadership, solid business skills, and the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house teams
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow revenue, manage costs, and improve profitability
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff to deliver consistent service excellence
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food regulations
  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, taking corrective action when needed
  • Build strong relationships with guests, suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Drive initiatives to improve service standards, guest satisfaction, and brand reputation
  • Lead operational improvements and continuous development projects
  • Represent the restaurant as its key leader, ensuring alignment with the group’s vision and standards


Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Minimum of 3+ years experiance in a General Manager or equivalent leadership role 
  • Proven track record of managing entire operations within a hotel, resort, or large hospitality venue 
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate large teams 
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to balance strategic planning and operational execution 
  • Flexibility to adapt to operational demands and travel when required
