About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Sales Consultant with a passion for Africa, travel, and delivering exceptional service to clients. This role focuses on business-to-consumer (B2C) sales and offers the chance to work within a fast-paced, target-driven environment, converting leads into unforgettable journeys across Southern and East Africa.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Client Engagement
- Convert telephonic, online, and email enquiries into confirmed bookings.
- Apply diagnostic sales techniques to understand client needs and budget.
- Build strong client relationships and establish trust through expert travel advice and personalised service.
- Use first-hand product knowledge to tailor-make travel proposals and maximise booking value.
- Deliver excellent service to drive repeat and referral business.
- Follow up 100% of enquiries within required internal turnaround times.
Operations & Fulfilment
- Ensure all bookings, amendments, and invoicing are captured accurately in the sales CRM system.
- Liaise with suppliers and clients to ensure seamless operations and service delivery.
- Approve and manage supplier invoices, client payments, and documentation distribution.
- Assist with after-hours/emergency calls as required and ensure client satisfaction from start to finish.
Product Knowledge
- Maintain expert knowledge of destinations, properties, and services.
- Share feedback and product knowledge with internal teams.
- Stay informed of travel trends, regional developments, and competitor offerings.
Team Contribution
- Support team goals and company culture through collaboration and innovation.
- Attend internal meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of sales and client service processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in tourism sales (preferably B2C).
- First-hand travel experience in Southern and/or East Africa is a strong advantage.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (minimum 1-year diploma).
- Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong influencing, sales, and client relationship skills.
- Proficient in MS Office or Google Suite.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and confident working independently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings.
