Job Title: Sales Manager – Luxury Travel & Tourism

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Type: Full-Time, Office-Based


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager to join a leading company in the luxury travel and tourism sector. This pivotal role is responsible for driving revenue growth, leading a high-performing sales team, and ensuring exceptional client experiences across all touchpoints. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities and a passion for luxury travel.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance & Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Monitor performance metrics and evaluate both team and individual results.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and implement personalized development plans.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives and preferred supplier agreements.
  • Drive performance through coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement.

Client Experience & Compliance

  • Ensure delivery of exceptional service throughout the client journey.
  • Oversee client interactions, ensuring professional and timely communication.
  • Supervise the booking process from inquiry to post-travel feedback.
  • Act as the first escalation point for client and supplier issues.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with the Product Team for training initiatives and site inspections.
  • Work with Marketing to manage lead distribution and promotional campaigns.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports and present insights to senior leadership.
  • Lead regular sales meetings with performance reviews and actionable recommendations.

Operational & Administrative Management

  • Manage team schedules, including leave cycles and shift planning.
  • Oversee administrative processes such as deposits, supplier payments, and reporting.
  • Maintain and update internal sales procedures and best practices.


Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric) and Diploma in Travel & Tourism.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Sales Management within the travel and tourism industry.
  • Proven track record in leading and developing successful sales teams.
  • Strong client relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Results-oriented, analytical, and strategic thinker.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred (Advantageous)

  • Degree in Travel & Tourism or related field.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite.
  • Budget management experience.
