We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic person to operate our Haas ST25Y and ST35Y CNC lathes. You will understand how the machinery functions and assist with setup and day-to-day operation. You will be part of a team regularly inspecting and maintaining the machines to ensure continuous production and a safe working environment.

CNC Operator duties:

• To operate our CNC lathes safely and efficiently.
• Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures on our Haas ST25Y and ST35Y machines.
• Work within tolerances (drawing tolerances), setting tolerance levels and cutting speeds.
• Use measuring equipment accurately using gauges and calipers.
• Translate the requirements of detailed part drawings from the design team into measurements for production.
• Question any tolerances or discrepancies with design team.
• Make sure materials are correct diameter for the job from the cutting shop.
• Ensure your work area is tidy and free from debris.
• Ensure tools are correctly used and stored away after use.
• Understanding the need for and wear appropriate PPE – eyes, head and neck, feet, hands, feet and legs.
• Liaise with members of other departments.
• Communicate with other departments throughout the process.
• Meet criteria for production quality standards.
• Maintain machines, carry out maintenance checks and service machine accordingly.
• Report any defects to Line Manager.
