Project Buyer

Location: Belfast

We're recruiting on behalf of our client for a Project Buyer to join their Supply Chain team in Belfast. Supporting Engineering and Production, you'll take ownership of procurement and material supply activities from initial RFQ through to full production. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in sourcing cost-effective solutions, supporting supplier performance and contributing to cost reduction initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

Working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams, you'll manage RFQs, source and develop suppliers, negotiate costs and commercial terms, and support projects through to production, ensuring suppliers perform as agreed to meet business and customer requirements. You'll also maintain supplier performance through scorecards and performance metrics, identify future sourcing opportunities, support supplier approvals and contribute to continuous improvement across the supply chain.

We're looking for someone with experience in procurement or buying within a manufacturing or engineering environment, who has strong supplier management and negotiation skills, excellent planning and organisational ability, and the confidence to build effective working relationships across multiple teams. You'll be proactive, commercially aware and capable of managing competing priorities while delivering the highest levels of service to internal stakeholders.

This is initially a 6–12 month contract, offering an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your skills and make a real impact. For the right person, there is genuine potential for the role to become permanent.
