The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK’s & Ireland’s Building Services sector. They develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.

We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of a wide range of prefabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public bodies throughout UK & Europe.
Team Overview:
The Procurement team manages the sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment, and services essential to project delivery. By building strong supplier relationships, negotiating competitive terms, and ensuring timely delivery, the department supports cost control and project schedules. Their proactive approach helps maintain quality standards while optimising value and reducing supply chain risks across all projects.
Role Overview:
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all purchasing activities for key Data Centre projects, to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods, materials, and services. This role ensures that supplier relationships are effectively managed, purchasing strategies align with business goals, and that all procurement activities support operational efficiency, cost savings, and quality standards.
What You’ll be Doing:
Team & Process Leadership
• Oversee the purchasing team workload, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
• Streamline procurement processes for efficiency and high level service.
• Work closely with the Supply Chain department to monitor inventory levels and coordinate with operations, production, and logistics to prevent shortages or excess stock
Supplier Management
• Establish and maintain strong long-term supplier relationships while working to identify opportunities to build the project supply chain and introduce new key partnerships.
• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost and reliability while ensuring they meet the technical requirements of the project.
• Negotiate pricing & contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Monitor supplier performance and compliance
Procurement Strategy & Planning
• Forecast demand and align procurement with production planning & project programs
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Conduct market and industry analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, while mitigating risks related to potential supply chain disruptions.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate better long-term pricing with key suppliers
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with various cross-functional teams including (finance, operations, production, quality assurance & warehouse) to align procurement with business needs.
• Work along with Supply Chain department to monitor inventory levels and coordinate with operations, production, and logistics to prevent shortages or excess stock.
Cost & Budget Control
• Manage project budgets, track spending & ensure costs efficiencies on all purchasing activities
• Provide regular reports to key stakeholders on project costs in relation to budgetary allowance
• Work closely with the commercial team to ensure key material procurement is aligned with company financial targets
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, contractual obligations, and relevant laws/regulations.
• Mitigate risks related to supplier reliability, quality, and market fluctuations.
• Maintain ethical and sustainable sourcing practices.
• Maintain vendor approval and evaluation processes to ensure there is quality and reliability across the supply chain
What You Need to Have:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a procurement function in a management position to include responsibility for
➢ Managing the performance of the procurement team
➢ Producing management reports
➢ Engaging with key stakeholder and maintaining positive relationships
• Effective managerial skills including the ability to develop and motivate, in order to meet client requirements and company targets
• In-depth working knowledge of procurement processes & supply chain management
• Financial acumen (budgeting, cost analysis, and total cost of ownership models).
• Proven experience of producing management reports in relation to procurement activities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What You Would Ideally Have:
• Possess a relevant qualification in Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, CSCP)
• Experience on 4 Projects and Power BI software packages
• Demonstrable experience of the management of mechanical / electrical material ordering.
