Job: Electrical Contracts Manager
Location: Newtownabbey
There are plenty of Contracts Manager roles out there. Most of them look the same. Deliver the job, manage the programme, keep the client happy, move on to the next one.
This isn’t one of those roles.
We are working with a well-established M&E contractor that is expanding its electrical operations across the UK, particularly in London. The pipeline is strong, the client base is established, and the opportunity now is to bring in someone who can take ownership of delivery while also growing into something more senior over time.
From day one, you’ll be responsible for managing electrical projects typically in the £5m–£10m range. You’ll lead site teams, deal directly with clients and main contractors, and work closely with bid and pre-construction colleagues to ensure projects are set up properly before delivery begins. You’ll be expected to challenge programme, cost, and risk, and maintain control of commercial performance throughout the lifecycle of each project.
A significant part of the role involves operating across UK-based projects. That means travel, time on site, and the ability to build and lead delivery teams — site managers, labour, and subcontractors — often from the ground up. You’ll need to be comfortable making decisions, taking responsibility, and working independently in a fast-moving environment.
There is a clear progression route attached to this role. The intention is that the successful individual will grow into a broader leadership position, taking increasing responsibility for the electrical function and contributing to the direction of the business.
You’re likely already operating at Contracts Manager or Senior Contracts Manager level within an M&E or building services environment. You’ll have experience delivering projects of scale, a strong technical grounding, and a good understanding of commercial and contractual matters. Exposure to NEC contracts is desirable, as is your ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.
This will suit someone who wants more than just the next job — someone who is ready to step into a role with real scope and progression.
