Public Sector Partnerships Manager
Re-Gen Waste | Newry
This is not a traditional sales role. You will not be selling a product. You will not be chasing monthly targets. You will not be making cold calls in the hope that something lands. Instead, you will be responsible for securing one of the most important assets in Re-Gen's business model — the long-term supply of recyclable materials that keep the operation running.
Re-Gen Waste processes significant volumes of recyclable materials every year. The machinery, people and infrastructure are already in place. What matters is ensuring a consistent flow of material into the business. Without that supply, utilisation falls, efficiency suffers and commercial performance comes under pressure.
The Public Sector Partnerships Manager will focus on building and managing long-term relationships with Local Authorities across Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. You will identify opportunities, navigate procurement processes and negotiate commercial agreements that provide long-term security of supply for the business.
This is a role built around credibility, commercial judgement and patience. Local Authority contracts are rarely won quickly. Procurement processes are structured, stakeholders are numerous and decisions are often measured in months rather than weeks. Success comes from understanding how public sector organisations make decisions, building trust with key stakeholders and positioning Re-Gen as a long-term partner rather than simply another supplier.
You will need to be comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels. One day you may be discussing future procurement frameworks with a senior council stakeholder. The next you may be working through contract structures, pricing mechanisms or contamination risks with internal colleagues.
This role would suit someone who has already operated within waste management, environmental services, utilities, infrastructure or another sector where public sector procurement and long-term contract management are central to success. You will understand the realities of working with Local Authorities and recognise that successful negotiations are built on preparation, persistence and commercial understanding.
Success in this role will not be measured by how many meetings you attend or presentations you deliver. It will be measured through long-term contracts secured, feedstock volumes protected and the confidence that Re-Gen's facilities will continue to receive the materials they need to operate efficiently.
Re-Gen offers the opportunity to take ownership of a strategically important area of the business and play a direct role in shaping its future growth and resilience. If you enjoy complex commercial negotiations, building long-term partnerships and creating value through strategic relationships, this is a role worth having a serious conversation about.
