About the Role:

This role is pivotal to the success of the execution of our clients’ business model, overseeing the detailed operation of the Recs and Banking & Corporate Action teams.

Ensuring they are focused on maximising the working relationship between the business and our clients/third parties. The role holder must be able to assimilate the complexity of the business proposition and have a sound understanding of the regulatory framework required to run the teams.

The role holder will be responsible for the management of the teams and, as a role model, demonstrate behaviours aligned to the company core values, in order to maximise team performance and deliver outstanding service in line with agreed key performance indicators. 

 

Responsibilities:

·      Responsibility for the Recs & Banking and Corporate Action teams

·      Team responsibilities include:

o   Daily internal and external client money reconciliations & investigation

o   Internal and external custody reconciliation & investigation

o   Regulatory returns & claims

o   Nominee and Investment Manager payment processing

o   Cheque processing and banking

o   Corporate Action processing

o   Distribution processing

o   Cash interest processing

o   Manage the teams to achieve effective workflows, contributing towards an efficient execution of responsibilities

o   Work with the departmental management teams to maintain a collaborative approach in achieving the departmental service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)

o   Responsible for Team Leader development through structured one-to-one sessions, appraisals and individual training and development plans

o   Remain up to date on all relevant external regulatory requirements and internal processes to ensure that all team procedures remain accurate and approved

o   Handle any escalated enquiries and complaints, liaising with the appropriate colleagues to achieve resolution

o   Encourage and value ideas and initiatives

o   Demonstrate flexibility during periods of high workloads and aid other services when required

o   Support the business with user acceptance testing and disaster recovery cycles, as directed

o   Achieve and actively maintain own skills and knowledge to adhere to the Training and Competency framework

o   Ensure that the risk management process is promoted, supported, managed, and implemented effectively within the team. Liaise with the Risk Team to help identify and manage risk effectively

o   Working with the team and other Line Managers to define, manage and continually improve the team and business processes

o   Coach and inspire to develop staff so that they can grow in line with aspirations of the business

o   Involvement in recruitment activities as directed

·      You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities that fall within your capabilities as directed by management

 

Essential Skills:

·      Excellent attention to detail

·      Strong CASS knowledge, in particular CASS 6 and 7

·      Excellent interpersonal, organisation and communication skills

·      Good understanding of investments, investment products and wrap platforms

·      Ownership and accountability

·      Excellent drive displayed, with the ability to work unsupervised and under own initiative

·      Proven previous management experience

·      Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines

·      In depth financial services experience

 

Desirable Skills:

·      Investment Management Certificate (IMC), Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) or equivalent industry recognised qualification

·      Financial services experience

·      Understanding of investments and investment products
