The Opportunity

This role is for someone who enjoys owning complex financial processes and turning messy source data into clean, trusted accounting outcomes.

As Workday Functional Lead for Accounting Center, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how financial data is sourced, transformed, and posted into Workday. You won’t just configure - you’ll lead design decisions, guide stakeholders, and ensure Accounting Center delivers real value to finance and the wider business.

The Role

As the Workday Functional Lead - Accounting Center, you will take ownership of the functional design and delivery of Accounting Center solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading functional design for Workday Accounting Center

• Partnering with Finance to understand accounting requirements and data flows

• Defining accounting rules, mappings, validations, and transformations

• Translating business and accounting requirements into scalable Workday solutions

• Leading workshops and design sessions with finance and technical stakeholders

• Supporting configuration, testing, reconciliation, and go-live activities

• Acting as the functional point of reference for Accounting Center across the organisation

• Collaborating with integration and reporting teams to ensure end-to-end alignment

• Driving best practices, documentation, and solution governance

• Staying aligned with Workday product updates and Accounting Center enhancements

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Workday Accounting Center

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial data structures

• Experience working on Workday Financials implementations or optimization programes

• Comfortable leading functional discussions with finance stakeholders

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a permanent, delivery-focused role

• Experience with Workday Financials modules is advantageous

• Workday Financial or Accounting Center certification is preferred
