Workday HCM Lead / Solution Architect

The Opportunity:
Play a leading role in the successful deployment of Workday HCM, acting as the client's trusted expert throughout the implementation journey.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Workday HCM Lead / Solution Architect who combines strategic leadership with deep hands-on configuration expertise. You'll work on the client side, guiding the Workday deployment, shaping solution design, and ensuring the platform is configured in line with business requirements and Workday best practices.
If you're someone who enjoys leading workshops, influencing senior stakeholders, making key architectural decisions, and remaining hands-on within Workday HCM, this contract offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on a high-profile implementation.
German language skills are highly preferred, alongside professional English.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the client-side Workday HCM workstream throughout the implementation.
- Act as the functional and solution architecture lead across the Workday deployment.
- Perform hands-on configuration across Core HCM and related Workday modules.
- Lead solution design workshops, discovery sessions, and business process discussions.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance and ensure alignment with Workday best practices.
- Partner with implementation partners and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Review functional designs, configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
- Support change management, issue resolution, and post-go-live readiness.
- Act as the senior Workday advisor for business and project stakeholders.
About You:
- Proven experience leading Workday HCM implementations from the client side or as a senior consulting lead.
- Previous experience as a Workday Solution Architect, Functional Lead, or Senior HCM Consultant.
- Strong hands-on Workday HCM configuration experience.
- Excellent understanding of Workday business processes, security, reporting, and solution design.
- Experience leading workshops, design sessions, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence senior business and project stakeholders.
- Experience working alongside implementation partners and managing functional delivery.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Professional English is essential. German language skills are highly preferred.
