Workday Developer – Permanent – Hybrid London (Possibly Remote with Occasional Office Visits)


The Opportunity: A great opportunity for a Senior Workday Technical specialist to lead the design, governance, and delivery of enterprise-level solutions on the Workday platform on Build, Extend and Prism You’ll collaborate with teams across the business including; product, functional and architecture teams, to deliver secure & scalable solutions, ensuring deadlines are met and governance and change control are taken into account. You'll be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping guide key platform decisions, while also mentoring the internal Workday team and pushing the platform's capabilities further.


The Role:

  • Lead delivery of Workday solutions from concept through to go-live, covering Build, Extend, Prism and related Orchestration components
  • Turn complex business requirements into scalable solutions, laying out the available options along with their trade-offs and risks in a way stakeholders can act on
  • Help shape and enforce the organisation's SDLC governance approach, bringing consistency to how data models, UI, workflows, AI-driven builds and integrations are designed
  • Keep all delivered solutions aligned with agreed change management and release procedures
  • Ensure security is in every layer of solution design, covering domains, roles, access and segregation of duties - with proper audit trails and access controls built in from the start
  • Balance the push for rapid delivery against the need for strong governance and control
  • Take the lead on larger, more technically demanding projects, including those spanning multiple data sources, orchestration layers, and advanced platform features


About You:

  • Extensive Software Development background with a minimum of 4+ years Workday development experience
  • Solid knowledge of Workday fundamentals including; data model, security setup, business processes, custom objects/orgs, calculated fields and reporting (RaaS)
  • A track record of shipping production-grade applications, with examples ready to discuss or demo at interview
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs and Workday's integration toolset - EIB, Studio, Core Connectors • Good working knowledge of SDLC practices, code/peer review, and testing approaches
  • Some background in coaching or training other developers/analysts, and comfort producing clear how-to materials
  • Broader Workday module exposure across Workday Financials, HCM, Payroll & Security is beneficial
